I hope that the help he received contributed to a better show for him. I know I felt really good about being able to help a fellow artist, especially a first timer.
So, back to the same show I talked about last week. It officially opened at 10:00. The show promoters wanted all vehicles off the street by 9:30. At around 9:20, here comes my booth neighbor. He had to scramble to get his car unloaded as fast as possible. Out of his car came the boxes and bags, and one brand new unopened EZ-up canopy. Yup, you guessed it, a newbie, a show virgin, if you will. It was his very first art show. Now, he had a good excuse for arriving so late; he stopped to help a woman with a flat tire. Well, no good deed should go unrewarded. The vendors around him offered assistance. We helped him with the tent; offered suggestions for table placement; and offered suggestions and hardware for hanging his work from the tent.
I hope that the help he received contributed to a better show for him. I know I felt really good about being able to help a fellow artist, especially a first timer.
