At the beginning of this challenge, my Facebook fan page for The Shy Artist had a total of 21 likes. That’s a whole 21 people who had been to my page and clicked on the Like button. It had been at that dismally low number of likes since I launched the fan page over two years ago.
One of the Book Marketing Challenge presenters was Michael Bloom. He had loads of great information, but the thing that intrigued me the most was Facebook Fanpage Friday. In fact, I paused the recording and logged onto Facebook immediately to see what it was all about.
I added a few things to my Shy Artist page and on that Friday, I went to Michael’s Facebook Fanpage Friday post and posted my link.
Basically you find a Facebook party, post your page information, and then visit and Like the other pages that have been posted. It’s an easy, fast, and fun way to get likes to your page.
In the last couple of weeks, I have tripled the number of likes to my page. How cool is that? Now I can actually see all the analytics that Facebook makes available to fan pages with over 25 likes. Even better is that I am now connecting with more people.
This got me inspired to try hosting my own Fan Page Friday. I’m not sure what I am getting myself into, but I’m sure it will be lots of fun. However, since the summer art show season is quickly approaching, I decided to make it a once a month event just like an Artwalk. In fact I’m calling mine the Facebook Fanpage First Friday Artwalk.
So, for all the artists, crafters, photographers, jewelers, sculptors, creatives, art lovers, and anyone else out there, come on over to The Shy Artist party this Friday through Sunday. Post your page, find others to like and enjoy the artwalk!
