During the summer, I do an art show in Laguna Beach called the Art-A-Fair Festival. It is 2 month long show that is open every day. Today I went in to start painting my booth. I finished the first coat and over the next few days I'll do the faux finishing and bring in my print bins and counter.
It's a really amazing experience to be in the same show for such a long period of time. You really get to know not only the artists, but also the art. Rather than the cursory glance you get on your way to the restroom, you actually get to spend time studying the art. It has really expanded my understanding of art and has led me in many new directions.
So, in just a few days, the artwork goes up and then the show opens. And for the next two months, I'll pretty much be living in Laguna Beach surrounded by art. Can life get any better than this?
