Keep Planting Seeds

Sunday, I was in my booth at the Art-A-Fair Festival. A couple came up to me and started chatting like they knew me. It took me a few moments to realize that I had spoken to them the day before. The first time I met them, they gave my work lots of compliments; but, they weren't buying anything.

On Saturday, I had asked them about their plans while in town. They were looking for someplace for dinner so I recommended one of my favorite restaurants in Laguna Beach (Dizz's As Is, actually one of my all time favorite restaurants anywhere).

As I passionately described the restaurant, the menu, and the ambiance, they listened politely. They thanked me for the information and left. At that point, I assumed that they weren't that interested in my restaurant recommendation or my artwork.

So, imagine my surprise on Sunday when they came back to tell me what a fabulous experience they had. Not only did I gain a new customer for my favorite restaurant, but I also gained a new customer for myself. They ended up buying one of my pieces.

So, keep planting seeds. You never know when or where they're going to sprout.
