I just finished creating the first of The Shy Artist video interviews. This one is with children's book author and illustrator Scott E. Sutton. We got to interview him in his booth at the Art-A-Fair Festival in Laguna Beach, CA. You can see this interview on the video page of this website...
It was an interesting experience to tape an interview in the middle of an art show with all the noise and interruptions going on. And, I think it turned out rather well.
I have several other artists lined up for interviews. The outgoing ones were easy to talk into doing this. The shy ones may take a bit more work.
My plan is to ask each artist to talk about ways they engage their customers, how they answer difficult questions, how they overcame their shyness, how they make sales, etc. I hope that these videos will provide a good overview of ways to deal with customers for both shy artists and non-shy artists alike.
