Most of the ideas were for articles or blog posts. Titles such as “Free Resources for Artists,” or “How to Start an Art Business.” As I kept writing down the ideas, something else was scratching at the back of my brain. One of the examples talked about in the webinar was a children’s book. That got me thinking. What about writing a book like the classic kids style “A is for Apple?” So, I came up with “A is for Artist – An Alphabetical List of Tips to Help Artists Sell More Art.”
Somehow, this idea just felt right. I started a list of words for each letter. I thought the “Q” and “X” were going to be the hard letters to come up with words for, but it turned out to be the “G” and the “Y” that I had the most trouble with. So, I asked some friends for help and now I have a long list of words to use.
So, armed with my list and a few choices of really cool fonts for the chapter headings, I started writing this new book on Saturday. Sometimes I wish I was faster at writing. This book really wants to come out. But, it is not coming out in alphabetical order. It just seems to come out as a word inspires me to write.
I feel like I am writing in a freeform style much like I create much of my artwork. It feels good to have the creative juices flowing.
